I like spam. No fo-real, I do! (B.A.R. Rating 5 out of 5 - Bad Ass Approved!)
I enjoy getting unsolicited email, the more the better. It reminds me when I was kid and I would get my trusty copy of Free Stuff for Kids and I would send away for free junk just to get something, anything, in the mail. Now, with the power of the Internet, I get hundreds of spam emails a day, with no end insight. How delightful. The problem is that I like to get my spam in a more orderly fashion. Much of my regular email is simply cluttering up my spam and from the looks of some of the email I started to receive from Bad Ass Reviews, I’m in headed for trouble.
Once the software is in and you’ve rebooted the computer, the next thing to do is to open your favorite email program. Once again, Zonelabs knows what to do. It sets up a couple of subfolders that will collect all the spam (to my delight and yours). No more mail cluttering up spam or spam cluttering up mail, however you see the world.. Ever since I have installed Zone Lab’s Internet Suite, I’ve been able to keep up with the latest on Canadian pharmaceutical breakthroughs, help neglected wives with their marriage issues, and collect quite a collection of artistic interpretations of the human body. I tell you, this is the best thing that’s happened to me with computers, in quite some time. Gotta give’em a 5 out of 5 B.A.Rs. - Bad Ass Approved! Not So Cool Spyware clean up controls are still lacking. We spoke with Te Smith from Zone Labs about this and he told us that while their software can stop spyware from accessing the Internet, they know that Zone Labs needs to be able to remove the stuff as well. He assured us that they’re working on it as we speak. So, what does this mean to you? Zone Labs will alert you to programs doing things behind your back, and you can forever prohibit them from sending personal info back to their mother ships. But keep a copy of PestControl (my fav) or some other anti-spyware software, to help you clean them up out of your system once and for all, at least until Zone Labs give us something to work with. There could also be a noticeable slowdown to email downloads on slower machines. This is understandable, as the system has to be able to filter these messages on the fly, and it is continuously downloading new receipts and blocklists to keep up with the latest Spam that’s floating around out there. Zone Labs is pretty sophisticated program, so just make sure you're system requirements are up to par.How Much Dinero? This will set you back $69 if you buy a one year license. I would pick up the 2 year option for $94. The two year license brings down the price to under $50 year, which is commensurate with standard anti-virus software. The fact this thing comes so well put together however, we should all be thankful Zone Labs didn’t charge much more. The Fine Print You can purchase a copy of directly from ZoneLab’s site (www.zonelabs.com). |
